Ganesh Chaturthi is just around the corner. In a country like India, where there is no end to festivities, you need to be well stocked with outfits for each. But celebrations call for some dressing up which we can’t ignore and the regular Anarkalis just don’t give the “wow” factor anymore!
We came up with some ways to style your Anarkalis and rock this festive season.
Belt it up
Style your Anarkali with a great dressy belt. The trick here is to wear your dupatta over one shoulder and belt the suit aroundyour waist while tucking the dupatta inside it. Make sure the belt is a little wide and has designs and colour that match your Anarkali for the perfect finishing touch.
The mix and match trick
This trick is very simple and probably tried and tested many times before. Just get a long or a layered kurta and pair it up with a pair of churidar leggings. Get a matching dupatta and you have your Anarkali ready!
To give your Anarkali a more traditional look, you can work around with different dupatta’s. You can look at contrasting colours, prints, patterns, etc.
We picked out a long kurti from the Soch collection which would fit right in this trick.
Work with the dupatta drapes
One sure and easy way to funk up any Anarkali is to experiment with how you drape your dupatta. Some easy ones are
- Draped in the front with a cowl gather;
- Stretched and pinned to both shoulders and left as an open drape in the front;
- Draped over shoulder and left loose over arm;
- Taken over one arm and wrapped around wrist on the other.
While there are many more styles to drape the dupatta, experiment with your and have fun.
With these tricks up your sleeve, get ready to welcome Ganapati into your home with a new outfit and loads of fun!
